Day 01: Ljubljana Airport - Ljubljana

Arrival in Ljubljana by air or by train. Pick up of the car. Overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 02 : Ljubljana – Lake Bled

Explore Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, with the medieval town core, rich Baroque and Renaissance architecture, on your own. Stroll along the Ljubljanica River and have a drink and lunch in one of the local restaurants. Late afternoon drive to magnificent Lake Bled - one of the most beautiful Alpine resorts in Europe. Visit Bled castle, located on the top of a cliff above the lake and admire the amazing panoramic alpine view. Overnight in Lake Bled.

Day 03 : Lake Bled- Lake Bohinj– Kranjska Gora

After breakfast take a ride with the traditional wooden boat “pletna” to the small island on Lake Bled. After the boat ride drive to another Alpine beauty - Lake Bohinj situated in the Julian Alps with the highest Slovenian peak, Mt. Triglav. You can take a cable car ride up to Mt. Vogel for a beautiful panoramic view. Proceed to the small Alpine resort Kranjska Gora, a worldwide known ski resort. Overnight in Kranjska Gora.

Day 04 : Kranjska Gora- Soca Valley- Nova Gorica

Drive over the high mountain road to pass Vrsic (5,285ft) and on to Bovec, the largest tourist resort in the Western part of the Julian Alps. Drive downstream on the Soca river to Kobarid where one of the bloodiest battles in recorded history was fought during World War One. Ernest Hemingway wrote about this site in his book, “Farewell to Arms." Visit the award –winning Kobarid Museum. Enjoy a meal in one of the great local restaurants. In the afternoon drive to Nova Gorica, a small town built after the 2nd World War, today known as the “Las Vegas of Slovenia”. Overnight in Nova Gorica

Day 05: Nova Gorica – Piran-  Portoroz

After breakfast drive to the Adriatic coast and to the medieval Mediterranean town Piran, famous for being the birthplace of the violinist Giuseppe Tartini. Admire the charming Venetian architecture and enjoy a meal in one of the fish restaurants. In the afternoon visit the Secovlje salt pans, where salt is still produced in the traditional way. Overnight in Portoroz.

Day 06: Portoroz

Day at leisure and maybe visit of Lipica Stud Farm from the 16 century or drive to the nearby Istria Peninsula in Croatia or make a one day trip to Venice. Overnight in Portoroz.

Day 07: Portoroz-Postojna Cave/ Predjama Castle- Maribor

After breakfast departure to Postojna Cave, the marvelous underground world. Ride with electrical train through the underground world. Later on stop at Predjama castle with dramatic setting in the gaping mouth of a cavern halfway up a cliff. By Highway drive to Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia.  Overnight in Maribor.

Day 08: Maribor – Ptuj- Ljubljana

After breakfast sightseeing of Maribor on your own. It charms you with its diverse experiences in a pleasant town center and wonderful surroundings of wine-growing hills and the forests of Pohorje. You can visit the city's famous wine cellar. Proceed to the Slovenian oldest town Ptuj with more than 1000 years of history, at the riverside of Drava river. Explore its beauty while taking a walk through the town and visit the Ptuj Castle and Dominican and Minorite monasteries. Enjoy the meal in one of the local restaurants in Ptuj. In the evening arrival in Ljubljana. Overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 09: Ljubljana

After breakfast drop off the car at Ljubljana Airport or in the city.
